Adding Value Through Content
In this part of the process, we're going to add some more value to our site. You just created the review and about me pages, so now we're going to add two or three additional pages. In these pages, we're going to give away as much value as we can. We'll give away free tips and anything else that is useful. The key here is to just get into the mind of your visitors.
You've got to ask yourself, "What do they want?" Along with product reviews, they probably also want some free tips, some guides, anything like that. We're going to start padding out your site with these additional free pieces of content. You don't have to make this fantastic work of art. Sure, over time, it probably helps you to do that, but we're just going to start real simple.
By adding more pieces of content to our site, it 1) increases search engine rankings and traffic by putting more content out there that people can stumble upon and 2) it's going to, in general, increase the amount of time that your visitor spends on your website, which is also crucial for search engine rankings.
Add Another Page
You're going to add a new page just like you did with your product review and About Me page. I've written a small article, about 350 words, and I've done the basic formatting with a Header 2, spacing, and bolded words. At the end I've included some links to my review page.
I address the reader and then lead into some simple home remedies including free tips. Ideally, I like to cap it at three free tips just because if you provide too much, it can be kind of overwhelming. I just gave them three, basic home remedies to increase the value.
Everyone uses very similar tips, so I try to enhance them by providing extra steps.
[add example with apple cider vinegar]
You can see how I take a very simple tip of using apple cider vinegar to treat a skin tag, and I enhance it a little bit by putting a small twist on it. That's really crucial because it makes the information more valuable.
Next I will add some pictures. Since images cost money, I wouldn't recommend buying an image for every article. You can get away with two or three images at most.
After I give my free tips, I lead right into the promotion for the product.
Don't forget to add the SEO keywords. Along with the keywords in the SEO panel, you're going to try to get those within the content of the article as well.
You can see that we have various pages on the sidebar. This increases the value of our site.
More Article Possibilities
I would also add pages that cover topics like, "What are symptoms of skin tags?" or "How to tell if you have a skin tag vs a mole or a wart?"
These are just all useful pieces of information that someone is going to need if they have this condition. They're going to ask themselves what the bump on their neck is. So they'll type in something like "mole symptoms," "symptoms of skin tags," and they'll land on that piece of content. Someone else in the process looking for some treatments will type in something like "home remedies for skin tags." The piece of content that I just created is for them. They're going to land on your pages, and when they land there, you're going to "funnel" them to your review page.
Once you've posted each page, you're going to social bookmark them. Remember, every time you post a new piece of content, social bookmark it!
The keywords we used in the SEO keywords section are the same keywords we will use in the title of the social bookmarking service.
Since you're a beginner, I wouldn't recommend posting more than five pages. It just keeps your site easier to manage, and it keeps people from getting too confused.
In the next lesson, I'm going to teach you some advanced backlinking techniques.
